More Female Vets Becoming Homeless Because Of Economy

Many military vets are becoming homeless, and that includes female vets. The Department of Veterans Affairs is making progress, they claim.
More Female Vets Homeless

Read the story of military vet, Misha McLamb, a military vet who served in the Persian Gulf. Misha now lives in transitional housing for homeless veterans.

Misha helped keep fighter jets flying during a military career that took her halfway around the world to the Persian Gulf. But back home, the Navy aircraft specialist is barely getting by after a series of blows that undid her settled life.

She now lives in transitional housing for homeless veterans — except the government recently advised occupants to leave because of unsafe building conditions.

Read the rest of Misha's story and what homeless shelters and the Department of Veterans Affairs are doing to help the ever increasing number of homeless female vets at the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
