	House Is A Home is a non-profit transitional shelter and emergency shelter located on Walnut Avenue in Anniston, Alabama. Volunteers are needed to help prepare meals and assist with cleaning.
1922 Walnut Avenue Anniston, AL 36201 (256) 282-0835 https:// Shelter House Is A Home Transitional Home Emergency Shelter which has been operational since 2009. We currently do not receive any funding but rely on donations and fees to remain operational. We have been a member of the HCNEA (Homeless Coalition of Northeast Alabama since 2005). We are a non-profit and started our homeless program due to many children in our after school program that was homeless so their families stayed at our shelter until they found stable employment, received SSI or transitioned with families. Our highest population are physically or mentally challenged homeless clients. We have worked this year with 102 homeless whereas 14 received jobs, 2 families got permanent housing, unemployment benefits, 60 individuals were referred to mental health, 10 individuals got or started their SSI Benefits, and many just needed emergency stay. Based on no funding as of yet that is an accomplishment in itself. o-_-o
